- Founded in 2006 by online video buffs who met while in graduate school and won the
UC Berkeley Business Plan Competition.
- TubeMogul's free beta service launches in November of 2006
- In January 2008, TubeMogul announced the launch of its Premium Products, which include a host of new professional features.
- Through its acquisition of Illumenix in October 2008, TubeMogul is also able to offer rich engagement and performance metrics to video sharing sites, content creators and advertisers.
- After surpassing 150,000 users, TubeMogul announced the launch of its data-driven PlayTime ad platform in March of 2010.
Brett Wilson, Co-founder and CEO
John Hughes, Co-founder and President of Products
John is the technical lead and product visionary for TubeMogul. He conceived and created the analytics engine and has led the development of the free and premium toolsets. John's prior experience was as an internet product manager and marketer at Adobe Systems and Gateway.com. John holds an MBA from UC Berkeley and an undergraduate degree from Penn State University.
Jason Lopatecki, Chief Strategy Officer
Jason co-founded Illumenix, a first-to-market video analytics startup that measures in-player audience engagement. At Illumenix, Jason grew the business from a concept to a successful product launch and an early leader in the video analytics market. Prior to Illuemnix, Jason was an early member of IPTV/Communications startup Calix Networks. At Calix Networks, Jason helped lead the development of multiple successful products, from inception to marketplace. Jason has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and computer science from UC Berkeley.
Adam Rose, Chief Technology Officer
Adam co-founded Illumenix with a vision for providing detailed insight into online video, of which the future was clear: all video delivery will be done using IP and the Internet. Adam's prior experience includes system architecture and engineering management in the development of network equipment and infrastructure, at both Calix Networks and Ciena Systems. Prior to that, he was a systems integration lead for the Canadian robotic arm that was used to build the International Space Station. Adam has a degree in Computer Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada, and hails from Toronto, eh!
Mark Rotblat, VP of Sales
Mark leads the Sales and Marketing efforts at TubeMogul, with a focus on communications and marketing activities surrounding customer acquisition, product launches, and industry analysis. He previously worked in Marketing and Business Development at Healthline.com where he developed partnerships for the company's content and tools. Prior to Healthline, Mark was a management consultant for Stockamp & Associates where he advised multi-billion dollar healthcare organizations on IT implementations for operational improvement and financial reporting. Mark has an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
Brian Hafer, VP of Technology/Engineering
Brian is a veteran engineer and IT manager with a background in online software, commerce, and analytics. Before TubeMogul, he was Development Director at Emergent Game Technologies where he led the development of Metrics, a distributed technology product for collecting, analyzing, and sharing game data from massively multiplayer online games and consoles such as PS3 and XBox360. Previously, he managed the applications team for RedEnvelope's award winning e-commerce website, where the various enterprise systems shared data in real-time and fed business intelligence warehouses to drive strategic decisions.
Eleanor Baird, Director of Research
Eleanor Baird is the Director of Research and a specialist in online consumer behavior. Before joining TubeMogul, she was a Senior Associate with Compete, a Boston-based web analytics firm where she advised Fortune 100 companies on their online marketing strategy. Eleanor has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she wrote her graduate thesis on targeted online advertising and was a researcher with the Convergence Culture Consortium, investigating YouTube as a promotional tool, metrics for fan engagement, and the impact of advertising on consumer behavior. Before graduate school, Eleanor worked in communications and policy research roles in both the public and private sectors.
